In the occasion of the 50th Founding Anniversary of the Catanduanes State University (CatSU), its new SUC President III, Dr. Patrick Alain T. Azanza called upon all alumni of the University all over the world to organize themselves and coordinate with the Alumni Center of the University in order to support what President Azanza called as the spirit of giving back to the University. Pres. Azanza who is himself an alumnus of CatSUโs high school department wants the alumni to support the needs of the CatSU students, and also to contribute to the Disaster Preparedness Program of the University.
Pres. Azanza who is an elected member of the Philippine Red Cross emphasized that the University, knowing that at least ten (10) typhoons visit the province every year, should already anticipate emergency situation and must prepare stock of non-perishable goods, medicine, raincoats, blankets, and other necessities during emergency. CatSU has to be proactive. We should not be reactive and only organize operations and gather only relief goods when the disaster has already struck.
Pres. Azanza also called on the CatSU Alumni to support his initiative for a technology-driven and eco-friendly learning environment; and also to support his initiative for the Universityโs Endowment Fund and the Faculty and staff Provident Fund to expand the benefits and Welfare Program of CatSUโs Human Resources.
