Aimed to enrich CatSU awareness of their significant organizational roles and how they should run parallel to the vision, mission, and goals of the university, the office of Vice-president for Administrative and Financial Affairs, headed by Dr. Maria Edna R. Iñigo, spearheaded a Training Workshop entitled “Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS) Review and Enhancement Workshop”, on May 30, 2022 at the CatSU Accreditation Room. The activity likewise intends to identify employee competency gaps to arrive at a compliant workforce that consistently works towards the attainment of the university strategic plans.
The workshop was facilitated by the university’s Human Resource Management Services headed by Ms. Ma. Sionne May Crispino, and in coordination with the Civil Service Commission, whose Director of Catanduanes Field Office, Ms. Enida R. Abordo, and HRM II from Regional Office V, Mr. Christian C. Antiquiera served as the resource speakers. The Head of Offices of the University, representatives from other units and colleges as well as the CatSU President, Dr. Patrick Alain T. Azanza, attended the activity. Also in participation were the CatSU Performance Management Team from the Main and Panganiban Campuses, SPMS Technical Working Group, and Unit/College Focal representatives.
This pioneering initiative of after 50 years of conception of the university further intends to strengthen the new leadership’s call for efficiency and transparency, thus would redound to effective services and shall ensure quality assurance. Moreover, faithful to the requirement of the Civil Service Commission (CSC), CatSU strongly supports the mandate of the Office of the President of the Republic of the Philippines through this activity, that is, Results-Based Performance Management System that links organizational performance to societal goals. Consequently, it runs concomitant to the Performance-based Incentive System (PBIS) that consists of the Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI) and the Performance-Based Bonus (PBB).
“This activity serves as a take-off point of the university in carrying out its Strategic Performance Management System in the coming years where plans, activities and programs are replete with several expected changes and innovations”, Dr. Azanza said. #𝐂𝐕𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐬
