After the very successful YLS a few months ago, CatSU, in partnership with the Team of Ms. Venus Raj, SIPAG (Simula ng Pag-asa) Director held its second run of the YLS, this time with a significant twist.
Parents and Teachers took part in the Summit in order to foster a closer and deeper understanding of the needs and aspirations of our Youth. It was also designed to ensure that parents and teachers are aware of what the Youth really wants, how they wish to be treated, and where or when they expect to feel the presence of their parents and their teachers in their lives.
In his facebook page, Dr. Patrick Alain T. Azanza, CatSU President said, “We want a holistic approach in reaching out to students so we will know their sentiments and needs, and we want our parents and teachers to LISTEN exactly to what our students are NOT or UNABLE to say to us so that we can better help our Youth. Sometimes all they need is a listening ear or a warm embrace to assure them that no matter what, we will always LOVE them and stand beside them.”
The YLS 2.0, a gathering of the Catandunganon Youth Leaders along with their very own parents and teachers, was spearheaded by SIPAG, a non-profit, non-government organization that seeks to empower vulnerable and marginalized communities, youth in need, development leaders, and young professionals to assure them that in these troubled and challenging times, they are not alone. Above all, the main objective of this YLS is to find the true meaning of Serving God in the lives of the Youth, Parents, and Teachers where peace and harmony shall truly reign. The event was completed on May 16-18, 2022 at the CatSU Gymnasium and Auditorium. #𝐂𝐕𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐬
