In his recent visit to Mainland Bicol, CatSU President, Dr. Patrick Alain T. Azanza made sure to benchmark the University’s course offerings, research, extension, production and other administrative concerns as he visited the Bicol University (BU) as well as the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA).
There he met with Dr. Arnulfo “Noli” Mascariñas, BU SUC President IV, who happens to be his batchmate at UPLB and also a classmate in several sociology classes along with former Congressman Teddy Casiño. The president described it as a productive meeting as both have agreed on inking a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to bolster and build up the universities’ programs in Agriculture, Fisheries, Nursing, Medicine, Teacher Education, Engineering, and other courses that will allow to share resources and further encourage student and faculty exchange and even pursue joint research programs.
Dr. Azanza shared through his official facebook account that his visit to CBSUA was equally productive. “I saw the state of agriculture that they are implementing and I saw clearly the competitive advantage of what we intend to do here in CatSU, and how we can work together so we can push the smart agriculture in the whole of Bicol Region to promote food sufficiency and food security, Dr. Azanza said.
“It is in sharing our resources and learning from each other that we shall be able to strengthen our respective state universities”, he ended.
Dr. Mascariñas is also the Chair of PASUC Region V, and heads the zonal committee that is tasked to evaluate faculty promotions which requires zonal evaluation. #CVecilles
