A team from Samaritan's Purse, an
international NGO and also known for its Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes,
paid visit to the Office of the President of CatSU yesterday, November 25, to
seek assistance from President Dr. Patrick Alain T. Azanza in the search for a
rental space that they will make as their temporary abode and satellite office
for a year.
In January, Samaritan's Purse will
start their operation particularly in the Municipality of San Miguel where they
will provide water filtration system for a potable drinking water and housing
assistance to both partially and totally damaged households for 20 selected
Catandunganons who were left devastated by last year's Super Typhoon Rolly.
Samaritan's Purse (with Franklin
Graham as President) is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization
providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since
1970, the group has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war,
poverty, natural disasters, diseases, and famine.
It
can be remembered that Dr. Azanza emphasized the openness of CatSU in welcoming
all organizations with noble advocacies. It raises its bar of extending
assistance not only for the benefit of its employees and students but also for
the community and the whole province of Catanduanes. #CCT
