The
Catanduanes State University- National Service Training Program conducts
another activity for CatSU-NSTP student-trainees dubbed as โYouth Matters: NSTP
Radio-Based Sessionsโ. This time, itโs in collaboration with the Radyo
Pilipinas Catanduanes. The activity has already conducted two live sessions at Radyo
Pilipinas Catanduanes Station with Rev. Fr. Mark Anthony T. Tasarra in his
topic on Nurturing Self: Socio-Emtional Furrows and Mr. Joal C. Cocjin on
Unleashing the Servant Leader in YOUth.
To
continuously provide support for the CatSU-NSTP students in this time of
pandemic, the radio sessions had another group of distinguished lecturers in
their field of expertise to discuss in-depth knowledge on the topics together
with faculty trainers who will share their implications of the topics to be
discussed. It can be noted that the NSTP office also recently concluded the
online webinar series titled โNSTP Citizenship 101โ wherein more than one
thousand registered participants attended the sessions.
According
to the organizer, participants were able to broaden their understanding about
the topics in NSTP as realistic scenarios were likewise presented.
Faculty-trainers also expressed their appreciation to the speakers who were
able to shed lights to some topics which are difficult to explain in modular
approach. During the monthly Kurumustahan, the NSTP faculty-trainers requested
for more of the series of presentation as they believe for its effectiveness in
bridging the educational gaps of the different approaches in flexible learning
specifically used in the said subject in the new normal. โHence, the NSTP
Office is inspired to do more and explore other means,โ Prof. Emlyn M. Lanon,
NSTP/NSRC Director said.
This
undertaking is said to serve as an avenue for students to become pro-active,
engaged and involved citizens of the country by providing the student-trainees
additional insights and knowledge about the various topics in NSTP. The
initiative was also made available online for the purpose of helping the
students around the province in enriching their knowledge and wisdom and to
effectively support their learning in NSTP subject.
For
the next two Saturdays, topics on Understanding the United Nationโs Sustainable
Development Goals and Philippines AmBisyon 2040 and Preparing and Writing a
Project Proposal will be discussed by Atty. Gregorio M. Sarmiento Jr. and Prof.
Zyra Mae T. Tumala, respectively.
