It was a tie between Engr. Maruja Panti of CatSU Project Management Office and Mr. Noel Villanueva of Catanduanes National High School.

Both art pieces were created in canvass and focused on the theme, โ€œCelebrating 50th Foundation of CatSU: Transforming the University in the Time of COVID Pandemicโ€.

Initially, the winner will get a P10, 000 as cash prize, but since there were two painters who emerged with their leading entries, Dr. Azanza had to split the prize into two. After Dr. Azanza announced the results on his personal FB account, a friend of him whose wife is also an art enthusiast volunteered to sponsor for the prize so that both winners will take home the original P10,000 prize. Today, both winners received their prizes at the Office of the President.

A total of 15 participants from all over the province had showcased their talent in the said Painting Contest, spearheaded by the President who himself is a certified art enthusiast. All entries were displayed at the Main lobby during the Art Exhibit in celebration of the 50th Founding Anniversary.

Panti and Villanuevaโ€™s art pieces will be used as the Cover of the Presidentโ€™s 100th Day State of the University Report. #cvecilles
