The Catanduanes State University led by the SUC President III, Dr. Patrick Alain T. Azanza had successfully completed its virtual fourth survey visit conducted by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities, Inc. (AACCUP) from October 4-8 2021. Two programs from the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA), headed by its Dean, Prof. Esperanza P. San Juan, were accredited for Level IV namely, Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
The team of accreditors sent by the AACCUP was led by Dr. Darwin Ulsa Ong from Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST), the overall coordinator together with his survey team composed of Dr. Gualberto A. Magdaraog, J. (BulSU), Dr. Desiree L. Wagan (LSPU), Engr. Ivy Mar R. Ramos (BulSU), Dr. Marita R. Parobrob (BulSU) and Dr. Consuelo Estigoy (NEUST).
In its pursuit to sustain quality assurance and excellence in education, the CatSU in its week-long accreditation survey has concluded with the accrediting team giving their impressions in the following areas of evaluation; (1) VMGO, (2) Faculty, (3) Curriculum and Instruction, (4) Support to Students, (5) Research, (6) Extension and Community Involvement, (7) Library, ( 8 ) Physical Plant and Facilities, (9) Laboratories, and (10) Administration.
On behalf of the accreditation team, Dr. Ong, commended the efforts, cooperation, and unswerving commitment to quality and excellence of CatSU especially their counterparts and staff for preparing and providing them the necessary documents for evaluation. This enables them to have quality assessment and sound recommendations in support of the institution’s request of attaining its goals of leveling up the status of accreditation.
CatSU- Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Lily P. Custodio in closing remarks expressed her gratitude to the accreditors for sparing their time and valuable inputs as well as the unwavering effort and commitment of the CatSU-CBA Accreditation task force for complying with the requirements needed by the accreditors. She also thanked the Quality Assurance Services headed by Dr. Edna A. Pante for facilitating such significant undertaking of the institution. Dr. Custodio further said that the closing ceremony will open more challenges and responsibilities and a hope to grow for the best.
“For me, the courage to periodically submit our programs for scrutiny is already a victory in excel,” she added.
The virtual awarding of certificate of commendation to the AACCUP accreditation team was then followed by the picture-taking of everyone present in the meeting room via zoom. The final result and the complete report of findings and recommendations of the accreditation will be verified and released by the evaluating agency soon.
This accreditation survey shows the University’s relentless effort in providing quality service and excellence in its curricular offerings.
And to continuously bear the torch of excellence, the University will once again brace for another virtual accreditation as it subjects eight programs for a survey visit this coming November 2021. #GZafe
