As part of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) project, โ€œShared Service Facilities (SSF) Programโ€ various fabrication lab equipment will be officially handed over to the Catanduanes State University along with the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between the institution and the said agency regarding the Fabrication Laboratory(FabLab) on October 8, 2021.

The turnover of equipment which includes the ZMorph all-in-one 3D Printer, Plastic 3D Printer, HanMa Laser Cutter Engraver, Ansys Space Claim Software, Tormach 24R CNC Router with complete accessories and software and Markforged Mark TwoCarbon Fiber 3D Printer will be led by DTI Catanduanes OIC-Provincial Director Maria BelmaEscueta and CatSU SUC President III, Dr. Patrick Alain T. CatSU- College of Industrial Technology headed by the Prof. Edwin Romero, Dean of the college is the main beneficiary of the SSF program and Ms.  Ma. Monette DR. Tugay, CatSU Shared Service Facility Manager serves as the overall coordinator in charge of the SSF project.

A demonstration-training titled, โ€œFABLAB 101 Trainingโ€ was conducted by the CatSU-CIT in partnership of the Department of Trade and Industry held from October 5 and will conclude on October 8 at the Ground floor of PG Tabuzo Building, Catanduanes State University. Engr. Joseph Maggay and Mr. Jerry Lancin, the expert technical team from Omnifab, Inc 3D Technologies were the trainers of the said activity.
