Catanduanes State University (CatSU) Virac - Dr. Azanza on Monday July 19 has conducted a surprise ocular inspection of the ongoing construction of CatSU Men’s Dormitory together with VP AFA Edna Inigo, VPAA Lily Custodio, Arch. Jose Ong and Ms. Dirma T. Frias, Resident Auditor of CatSU. The President has been checking upon the progress of the project, reminding the implementer of the construction of the Men’s Dorm to finish on time. This is in line with his agenda in cleaning CatSU, removing corruption from within and outside, so that projects will not be delayed or be left unfinished.
Also, the Motor Pool/ Motor Depot of CatSU was visited where he checked on the mini busses of the University, which are in different states of disrepair. Upon hearing the conditions of the said vehicles, he has suggested to either sell the busses or convert them into something that can be used even inside the campus, like a Canteen on Wheels. Essentially, President Azanza is planning to find funds for the university to be able to buy new busses to replace the old ones.
Later, President Azanza visited an abandoned building that used to be a part of the College of Engineering about 2 decades ago. The building is located in the rearmost part of the campus with no direct access from the inside. It can only be accessed via the streets of Calatagan Tibang, near St. John's Village. As it is remotely located, back then the building had its own flagpole, as seen in one of the photos, for its employees to be able to conduct their own flag ceremony within, and not needing to go to the main building, which is far away. Upon seeing the structure, the President formulated plans for it to be beneficial for CatSU, which will be known later on.
