Following a surprise visit from Governor Joseph โBoboyโ Cua, CatSU President Dr. Patrick Alain T. Azanza expressed delight as he felt humbled by the kind gesture of the highest officer of the province. During the visit, the governor pledged his support for the Presidentโs Vision and plans for the University and reiterated his promise to respect the autonomy of the University. He also pledged to donate 200 smart phones/tablets for needy CatSU students who cannot enroll due to lack of access to online classes. Thus, Dr. Azanza thanked him and expressed that this is the kind of partnership and mutual cooperation that are needed from the local government units.
"I
believe that CatSU alone cannot do it. We need every support that we can muster
from every agency and entity, both from the private and public sectors in order
to make this Plan work and succeed for the sake of all Catandunganons. Kaipuhan
ta an gabos na tabang kan local buda nacional na govierno', Dr. Azanza said.
Dr. Azanza thanked Congressman Hector Sanchez, the Representative of the Lone District of Catanduanes who also sits as a Member of the Board of Regents, as well as the Sangguniang Panlalawigan and Sangguniang Bayan - Virac for expressing their full support to the comprehensive development plans for the CatSU.
"The
united cooperation of everyone including the spontaneous support of the general
public is heart-warming. All these keep me inspired to even do more for the
Catandunganons. Gapoon pa sana tabi kita. Dakul pa ang maabot para sa satuyang
mahal na isla. Dios
mabalos tabi. Mabuhay tabi kita gabos", he said. #cvecilles
